Does it meet them? Yes, it entertains and distributes a message, but has some flaws.
The story focuses on farmers and their land issues.
In a village in Rajasthan, a farmer named Rajaram Solanki (Robin Das) refused to sell his ancestral land to a big businessman, Haribhai Khattan (Gajraj Rao). Rajaram is in debt, farming is failing, and the system does not help. His land is taken, and, humiliated, he takes his life. Her widow, Janaki Devi (Seema Biswas), goes to the Delhi court seeking justice.
Here, two lawyers, both names Jolly, enter the story:
- Jagadishwar Mishra (Akshay Kumar), a clever and mischievous lawyer from Kanpur.
- Jagdish Tyagi (Arshad Warsi), an honest but clumsy lawyer from Meerut.
Both try to take cases and hit first. But as the matter progresses, they realize that the real fighting is against the system and there are powerful people who exploit the farmers. The case reaches the court of Justice Sunderlal Tripathi (Saurabh Shukla), and the real fight, begins and out of the court.

Direction and writing
Subhash Kapoor maintains the tone of the film – is still serious. The first half is slow, taking time to install the story. Some people may feel less fun than earlier films. But after the break, the film takes pace.
First Half: Two Jolly focuses on quarrels, jokes and attempts to grab the case.
Second Half: The court room drama begins, highlighting the struggles of farmers.
The director handles serious issues such as farmers suicides and grabbing the land lightly. Some scenes, such as a hospital or camel racing cars, testify, feel over-the-top. But initially a disclaimer says that the film takes creative freedom for entertainment.
The message is clear: “My land, my choice.” Taking the land of farmers in the name of development is never fair.
Dialogue and humor
Dialogues are strong. Arshad makes the feast of Warsi and Akshay Kumar laugh. Saurabh Shukla’s lines lighten the mood of the court. An important line film is sung by Arshad Warsi in the climax:
“Why does Haribhai’s choice matters, why Vikram’s choice matters, but does not like Janaki and Rajaram?”
Acting
Acting is the biggest strength of the film.
Akshay Kumar (Jagdishwar): His comic time and playful style brings energy. He shines in many scenes.
Arshad Warsi (Jagdish): He is honest, great as Hardik Jolly. His innocence and argument balance the film.
Saurabh Shukla (Judge Tripathi): He steals the show with his time, expressions and humor.
Seema Biswas (Janaki Devi): With a few words, her eyes and silent acting touch the heart. His cry in court takes the audience
Gajraj Rao (Haribhai): He is effective as a villain, although some may feel that his role may be strong.
Ram Kapoor (Vikram, a high-profile lawyer): Impresses with his unique style.
Huma Qureshi and Amrita Rao: They have small roles but perform honestly.
Technical Aspects
Music: Mangesh Dhakde’s music supports the story. There are no songs, and they do not dominate the plot.
Cinematography: Rangarajan Rambadran caught the courts of Delhi and villages in Rajasthan well.
Action and costumes: Parvez Sheikh’s action and Veera Kapoor’s costumes look real.
Weaknesses
The first half is slow.
The court room drama is less intense than earlier films.
The legal battle of the villain feels weak many times.
Sometimes, comedy looks at the serious issue.
Impact and message
The film does not just make you laugh – it reflects the pain of farmers. It says that there should be no development at the cost of farmers’ lives. The climax, where the two argue together for the Jolly farmers, touch the heart.
